Food Hall Butchery Business of the Year

This award is to recognise Food Hall businesses around the UK.

To enter, the Food Hall must be a retail business with turnover of meat, poultry, delicatessen, or fish making up 40% of the overall business. The retail sales area can be any size, but only part of a regional chain, and not linked to any supermarket group, national or multinational business. The business must be marketed and run as a Food Hall (i.e. not as a charcuterie, delicatessen etc.)
The business will be assessed on the following:

  • Efficiency in terms of product quality i.e. product preparation, range, availability, presentation and creativity; staff presentation and helpfulness, customer information, external marketing, liaison with suppliers, links with the local community, business planning and development, and the overall shopping experience.
  • Food Halls may be in any setting except on a farm or as part of a farm enterprise. E.g.: may include towns/city centres, villages, retail parks, rural settings, motorway service stations, holiday resorts, stately homes or transport hubs.
