I stepped into Butchery at the tender age of 13 and haven’t looked back since, I won my first Young Sausage Maker of the Year competition at 15, then going on to win it twice more along with multiple Gold Awards. I also recently competed in the World Butchers Challenge in Belfast, against 11 other countries, as the only female to ever represent Great Britain in Butchery. I love the different aspects of the job and how it’s changed over the years, modernising the way people cook and eat meat. Competitions like the Champion of Champions is a fantastic way to promote Butchery and Sausage Making and it’s great to get amongst the best of the best, sharing ideas and meeting with like-minded people.
