The judging

The Butcher’s Shop of the Year Awards has a two-phase judging process which ensures a level playing field for all entries.

First you are assessed on your paper entry and photographs by our judging panel. This panel is made up of experts including butchers and consultants with decades of experience in the meat industry. These panel members will scrutinise the paper entries in fine detail so be sure not to leave anything out.

In the second phase, our expert judges will visit you at your shop to assess the everyday operations of the business. This is a vital part of the judging process as it gives our panel the opportunity to see the business running on a normal day and how they interact with their customers.

Entering is straightforward and easy – we don’t ask you for anything complicated, just to tell us what you do and how well you do it. Be proud of your business and give us as much detail as possible for your entry.
